Victoria knows I am a gambling alcoholic with a penchant for young girls.

Casper, first of all you sure this isn't a deceptive longing? You know the whole "I don't want you but I don't want anyone else to have you" kind of thing? If not, then all you can do is be patient and in small ways you demonstrate your feelings. The little things mean the most. Big grand gestures are nice and all but its the small ones that you don't have to do but you do because you can and you care that make the difference in the long run.

Ah cut the guy some slack. I agree it may be at the overkill point on FB, but I admire for fighting for something important to him. That being said, it's important to know that sometimes you just have to accept that it isn't happening.


Sometimes resigning is all you can do.
 
Caspy, I don't think many of us know you well enough to tell this young lady why she should be with you, and honestly, I don't think this is the place for it. I know your sad and heartbroken right now, but you shouldn't have to talk a girl into being with you.
If she wants you, she will come to you, she knows you want to be with her, and if she decides so, she knows the door is open. That is really all you can do is let her know that you are still available to her.
 
Give it a year or so.

I went thru a phase with my girlfriend and we were apart for a year before we got back together for good.

Try to forget about it for now and take it as a good reason to become a better person. Lose some weight and some bad habits and you will feel better about yourself and maybe someone else will give you a chance. Don't pester her now, or you will never have a chance and you will drive yourself crazy trying.
