We were waiting for the big pipelines to get going.

The big pipelines will happen here in the Great White North, whether its Keystone or not, if the US doesn't want the pipeline then Canada will build a pipeline to the British Columbia coast and ship crude to Asia/China.

They are also talking about more pipelines to the east from Alberta.

Am I reading this correctly that Toronto and Montreal are the two cities with populations over a million and then Vancouever is next but significantly lower?

I posted some random thoughts on this general subject not too long ago

So apparently the city where I live - Mississauga - is the 6th most populous in Canada. 714,000. Comes after Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton.

Not Vancouver? Thats what it says. I thought for sure Vancouver was 3rd. Nope, 8th. Shows what I know.

But then the list of Metropolitan areas is different with Vancouver 3rd but Mississauga included in Toronto.

:dunno:

I'll tell you what's growing like a weed. The city I grew up in where my parents still live, Brampton. 91% increase in population since 1996. Jesus fok. Over half a million now.

Of course I remember when it was 5,000.

:oldballs:

Hmmmm the thing I saw showed Vancouver was third but I believe it may have said 2006. I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to this this morning...just wanted to get a conversation going before I forgot about it.

I lived in North Dakota for a period. Cold.

Vancouver is the 3rd largest city in Canuckistan by population but that includes the GVA - Greater Vancouver Area which includes the suburbs.

Vancouver is pretty spectacular. It sits in a very purdy location.

The pipeline is coming to the Maritimes. I think it was announced a few months ago. No surprise that the frenchies raised a stinck about it as the pipeline has to cross through Kwabek, but the injins got involved and told the frenchies top slow the fuck down. Pipeline to the Maritimes will proceed.

The meeting rooms at work are named after unusual Canadian city names.

Our weekly status meeting is in Skookumchuk (BC), while we hold conference calls in either Jerry's Nose (NL), Mushaboom (NS) or Success (SK).
