you really need to physically be in a store in order to try some pieces on. For example some pants fit differently than others. Shoulder pads can also be touch and go. I guess it all depends on the level of play, but I wouldn't bother wasting any money on buying gear online unless it's for a child.

I usually try on at store. then buy online at discounted price.

good call Blitty. I actually never thought of that, but here in Hockey Country, we have a ton of places to buy gear at reasonable prices. Minus skates of course.

Blitty, remember cut your stick down. Measure it the bottom of your chin when off skates or your Adam's Apple (if you actually have one) when you are on your skates. You'll be amazed at how much better your shot and stick handling will be.

Apparently Mike Richards chose quite an unorthodox way to spend his day with the cup:

For the lucky few who actually get to realize the dream of winning the Stanley Cup, figuring out what to do on their one day with Lord Stanley can be almost as difficult as winning it. But not for Mike Richards; as soon as the Cup was delivered to his door, the Kings winger went straight to his ex-girlfriend’s house in Kenora, Ontario to show off the glimmering trophy.

“I just wanted to show her what she missed out on,” Richards said, as a tear rolled down his cheek. “I wanted to show her that when she dumped me back in the 9th grade, she made a big mistake.”

I had no idea he was in such rough shape.
