The Meters . One of my all time favorite bands. I listen to them and James brown every day to get up and start working out when I dont feel like it. They are sampled everywhere but alot of people dont know about them

Who sampled who http://www.whosampled.com/ One of the coolest music web sites sites out there. you can find any samples. Naughty by nature sampled the Meters

I have the Mayfield track in my library. Love it.

Different sub-genre but I'm a big fan of "Grooveline" by Heatwave.

I had this album growing up, remember it rollerskating back in the 1970s. I really like alot of disco, alot f great musicians from the soul era just went into disco. Some great musicians in the disco era One of my favorite bass players is from the Brothers Johnson and definitely Bernard Edwards fron Chic

Ah man, Brothers Johnson and Edwards/Nile Rogers are gods to me. So much talent. Shame a lot of that stuff got branded.

Music critics and all of their ghey labels. Stuff wasn't disco. It was R&B evolving.
