we got paid in pizza and in "lucky bucks". if we got enough bucks we could select items out of a skymall-esque catalog.

only now do we know it was child slave labor.
 
Ok it's not exactly cold calling.
People go on this web site, and fill out a form of sorts to inquire about refinance or a purchase, and then that inquiry, seeing as it's the
internet and all, gets sent out to Mortgage companies,such as ours, Quicken, lending tree, ect. Then it is our job to call them and get their info and make an offer.

So it is, but it isn't cold calling.

I used to work for a different mortgage company that it was straight cold calling, we would get a paper list of people that had mortgages already, and it was a list that was cycled over and over and over again, not just amoungst our company but others as well. So it
wasn't even people that wanted to refi, we just offered it. Now that was way harder then this.

And wouldn't you know it, Steves did a few closing for them around the same time I worked there.....funny how these things happen.
 
That's legit then. Cold calling has to be 100x more brutal.

I never did it, but I did have a research job one summer where I needed to call Fortune 500 companies to gather names and job titles that would eventually form a pile of sales leads. I had about a 50% success rate, even after pretending to be a student who wanted to schedule a short interview with the person, for a school paper. I thought I was being clever.
 
common cami, you should know that women love any feeling of power given to them... when a broad answers the phone (even if the man of the house filled out the info) you should ask for Mrs. soandso... and tell her that her or her husband filled out info on a refinance yadayadayada...give her a sense of power and equal respect in the house...if she says she is clueless and it must have been her husband, so be it... but at least you have gained some trust...just try it for a day and see how much better broads act while on the phone with you :highfive:

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET RID OF A MIGRAINE, FAST??? I'm dyin over here, on the computer, trying to see straight and make calls while my head feels like someone is repeatedly stabbing my temple with a knife. Also, I cannot figure out how to dim this effin screen.
 
I used to get calls all the time at work from marketing agencies trying to sell me this product or that. They would say I filled out a survey and so my interest should include this, that or the other thing. Only I never filled out any survey or questionnaire or anything of the sort and I would tell them so. They would say well there must be some mistake but since I was on the line would I be interested in this, that or the other thing. I wouldn't and I would hang up.

I finally got tired of the crap and my office no-longer has a phone in it. So, if you move to Newberry and try to call the number listed for the Waste Water Treatment Plant, you're not gonna get an answer.

The truth is with so many scams out there even if people did have an interest in something when you are called there is a sense of distrust or an intrusion even. It's a job and you have to do what you have to do but in doing so you're gonna have to get comfortable with people thinking you are the anti-Christ.
