Googledocs/Smartsheets Question

I'd say the odds are about 1,000,000/1 (5dimes_reduced) anyone will know what I am talking about but after we got Cami's accounting question (that Monk NAILED) answered it feels appropriate to ask.

The issue is that in Google Docs I have a report with 6 "sheets" i.e. 1) Main report 2) Processing 3) Closed Production etc. etc.
We have been transitioning to Smartsheets i.e. Google's upgrade from Googledocs and I notice when I go to convert the GoogleDoc to the Smartsheet I only have a choice to convert the entire report. The issue is that it only appears to convert sheet 1 i.e. the Main Report and the additional sheets are eliminated in the conversion which seems like a ridiculous glitch to me. And furthermore you can't convert sheets within the report it has to be the whole report.

So, short of manually typing sheets 2-5 which would be absurd I can't find a way to successfully convert the report in full OR the other sheets/pages are there and my dumb ass can't figure out how to access them.

See if there were an export to Smartsheets option in Googledocs this would work. There is only an imports from Googledocs option in Smartsheets and it only gives you the option of the entire report.

I mean, CTRL+A and CTRL+C in Google Docs, CTRL+V in Smartsheet? Repeat process for every sheet. Would that work?

Good idea but the copy doesn't carry over to the Smartsheet

Good thought but my only import options are Excel, Google and MSProject. I'll have to try Excel tonight.

You would think a PDF with editable fields filled in would be an import option.

If you can print from Google docs you should be able to save as pdf.

I still think we must be missing something obvious. Me and my boss both did the same thing last night - Exported from Googledocs via Excel, all sheets were there. Import the Excel file into Smartsheets and :

Speaking of which Cami really got into it today! Task after task after task, asking all of the right questions. For someone with no background in the industry I am pleasantly surprised! And I only got called an asshole I think like 5 times today which is quite a decrease.
