Goodbye, $99 seat sales.

"Hello, the real, all-included prices including hidden fees, surcharges and taxes, which sometimes can add up to more than the fare itself.

The federal government announced Friday it will bring in new regulations requiring all Canadian airlines to include clearly what the passenger will pay.

The European Parliament has had legislation in place since 2008.

The United States currently imposes some requirements, but is requiring all-in airfare advertising, beginning in January.

I think the US has some visibility on fees, but you never really know. Do the tickets in Canada just show a price with no regard to the tax?

Yes, they show the airfare only price - a $99 fare is NEVER just $99!

A $99 fare is often $314 total.

I'm glad the government is making them disclose the full price in advertising.
