What's the big deal with that black kid getting shot?

I mean why is this still a top news story? I thought he was shot by some dumb ass who didn't know what he was doing. I'd imagine this happens ten times a day
What is the political or significant angle here? Whenever I try to listen to anything about it, I can't seem to get any facts about why the guy says he shot him.
I was gonna listen to Democracy Now for some news but I noticed the whole hour is gonna be about this case. fuck that

I think the issue is the stand your ground law which doesn't seem to apply as the dumb ass was told by 911 not to pursue the black kid but he did anyways then claims self defense. If some dumb ass came at me with a gun I'd put up a damn good fight too before I got shot.
