I loved the hypocrisy in the mayor's office with Sebastian. That was a great way to tie the two events together - with the story of Christopher Columbus. Three similar events that mirror each other (between the storyline of the movie, the making of the movie and the use of cheap labor, and the water mongering) - oddly enough, the director doesn't realize that he's repeating the same sort of exploitation. I didn't like Costa at first. He seemed cold-hearted and greedy. Sebastian seemed like the one with sentimentality (and he should since he's directing a story about oppression). But the tables turn and you see that Costa is really the one with heart. I love seeing character arcs like that. Great movie, RJ.

When they were getting ready to leave and the mother goes looking for him and he debates it over and over is a great scene.

The water problem in Bolivia, at times, is seriously that bad.

Sometimes I think if the earth really gets fuk up, this country I'm at now is not so bad to be in. It has massive amount of fresh water. Here or Uganda. :)

For sure. Just like life, you're defined by how you react in certain situations.

We have a fairly serious water problem in Vegas that nobody ever wants to address. They've used up over half of Lake Mead. I'll be out of here before it gets desperate though.

We have plenny of fresh water up here and thanks to the free trade agreement between Canada/USA the Canadians are obliged to sell water to the US for as long as they need it.

That's what's wrong with America today. We import too many inferior products from third world countries.

We should be making our own water.

America. Fuck yeah.
