Yeah. I saw the Gevey SIM unlocks. Was hoping there was a software unlock but I think I will probably have to go that route.

You can use it on other networks then. If you're simply going to use your current carrier, then there is really no need to do it.

However, the iPhones are hard coded for their specific network (AT&T for GSM). If you want to use another carrier, like T-Mobile, you would need to unlock the phone in order to use it on their network.

Because the baseband firmware is what you're modifying/cracking when you unlock a phone.

I am fickle sometimes with word usage, but one that People sometimes have trouble with is "ironic"
