Because it is a hypothetical question. Some crazed zillionaire offered to give you 30 million dollars but you have to eat dry (we'll limit) dogfood for the rest of your life. Why would they do that? I don't know. This is the stupid question of the day.

Let's change the parameter to middle class. In my mind it's a no brainer. Half the fun of travel is eating local foods. Super Bowl parties standing around watching your friends eat pizza and wings while you stand in the corner with your ALPO? No thanks. So much of what people do revolves around food, for good or for bad.

IAG, there is a diff between not getting to eat lots of the fun and/or exotic foods

and having to eat dog food
