They were big fans of the Wizard of OZ movie! Toto really wanted the name Kansas but that was already taken! I wonder if the band Kansas were also big fans of the movie? They might have just been from Kansas!

Originally, the group was named "Pogo" after the famous comic strip character, but it had to change its name when Pogo creator Walt Kelly objected to their use of the name and threatened to sue.

That must be what I was thinking.


I guess Toto is just named after the homosexual dog.
