Teela, what do you think of William Glasser?

I love the guy and his ideas. I've adapted them very well......
 
I admire Glasser's work, but I'm more of an Adlerian by nature. Then again, most of it is just grasping certain concepts and making them work for you and applying them to certain situations. There's no definite theoretical standpoint that constantly works for all people/situations.

i'm 80% instinctual....15% eclectic... 5% using stuff I paid to get taught...

I didn't need to go to college or grad school to really do this shit..

When doing an FBA, I noticed that I use a lot of Adler's four mistaken goals as the accomplishment of the behavior. I find it to be more applicable to what I do. I honestly couldn't recite every theory that we've been drilled. I think that life experience has been more influential in what I do.

Have you ever grabbed BigAl's hands and encouraged cuppage? I'm a big ass slapper. For some reason, I just like guy's asses. It's really a sickness.

I don't know what an FBA is...... i'm not on your level.

I don't remember the mistaken goals... I do think about adler's types though... like the ruling type, the avoiding type, social type ect....

but other than that I don't remember much about that nazi.... well except birth order...

FBA - functional behavioral assessment. Four mistaken goals - attention, power, revenge, assumed disability/inadequacy.

I'm the middle child, but there are seven years on each end. I think I fit the mold for a middle child, according to Adler's theory.

Interesting story about Adler - he was a peer of Freud. The two of them split because Adler believed that therapy should be more individualized instead of a "fit all" model. Freud later on referred to him as a "dirty little Jew." They were both Jewish.
