About 15 minutes ago the 50-60k people in that area were given 90 minutes to evacuate. The dam is going to break. Tangipahoa flows down to Lake Ponchatrain. There is also a dam in McComb, MS that is weaking, which heads basically in the same direction. This is not good.

Where the hell is this?

hmmm.....so is the other town being evacuated too?

Louisiana. While Isaac was not a HUGE hurricane like Katrina, he stalled and dumped rain. The dams cannot handle the amount of water and are starting to give way. Hmmmm....the 49 States of America?

Hmmmm....the 49 States of America?
huh?

Do you live near there?

Man, I feel so bad for people. The possibility of losing their homes and everything in it, I couldn't begin to imagine how awful that would be, and where are they going, and what about people who don't have cars or much money?

I am far north of that. There isn't any way to get that many people out in time. That is the sad realization

I was wrong. It's in Mississippi. Said there is a 50% chance of imminent failure of the dam. They are continuing sand bag efforts and may do a controlled breach.
