For example, Team A is +1.5 -110 or +105 on the moneyline.

Me personally, I would give up the +1.5pts to get the +105 moneyline instead of paying what seems like alot of juice (15 cents) for a point and a half.

This makes perfect sense to me, am I missing something?

It's a function of the total as well, plomberg. The value of the 1 in the NBA is significantly lower than other points. That move is worth approximately 10 cents, generically speaking (i.e. not taking the total into account). So the ML is typically the bettter play in that instance.

I was wondering the same. Played Lakers -1 against the Celtics for -110. Could have gone with the ML for -120.

It was a push at -1 so hindsight is easy. Would I be better playing ML in the NBA in a similar situation?
