One of my first sports memories was watching him, Ripken, Murray, Boddicker, Palmer, Flanagan and the boys win the world series at a neighbor's house.

Sad.

Steve I thought you were my age, you remember 1980? my first baseball memories come from 1985 maybe I was a late bloomer

I read a couple of former ump Ron Luciano's books and he has great great stories about Earl. I can't remember any of them now though

I did not know that about his minor league career that is crazy

37 here Archie and I very vaguely remember that about 1983 more of the photograph in my mind of them celebrating is about it

I always thought he was a ridiculous manchild - like so many managers - however he just died so -----> greatest guy of all time.
