It's a tough call really. It's like saying the same for Brodeur's record for most wins.

Speaking as a hockey fan I can say that records don't mean much to me unless I am arguing that Gretzky was better than Lemieux.

Which he was, of course.
 
I guess I look at the Detroit record as an ESPN- type of record. They report it, but digging deeper you discover the wins were achieved differently. Guess I'm old-school there.
 
Any input from Pico is always welcome as far as I'm concerned. Guy is always on point.

I tend to agree. They should count ties as wins then for comparing older teams. Plus, the home qualifier is kind of annoying. What's next? Record for most friday night wins? common
