When I was 6 years old I was essentially infatuated with KISS. My friends and I would use tennis rackets and play air guitar to Detroit Rock City. We even used to draw pictures of them and attempt to sell them on the street. I lived in Jacksonville at the time.

Ace talks about this interview a lot in the book. When I was real young and a huge fan I obviously didn't know what a tool Gene Simmons was and how cool Ace was (Paul used to be my favorite with Ace a close 2nd).


If anyone here is a fan I highly recommend reading the book and then watching this clip. Ace is hilarious in this interview with Tom Snyder.

I was into Kiss as a child especially in the mid to late 70's. Now I think Gene Simmons is an asshole who can't even play a bass guitar and basically has everyone fooled. His reality show has proved how much of a tool he is. All Marketers are Liars!!!

That was their greatest skill - marketing. Many bands before them lost millions though. I don't think you have to be a fan of them, just the music business to appreciate it.
