Canada and Russia are the picks to win gold in Mens hockey.

Team Canada could send two teams and they both would have a chance, common Reno.

No team is a lock but Canada is never out of the race.
 
Pretty messed up that Russia has been unofficially downgraded to a 3rd world country! WTF! Common now! And Sochi is supposedly a resort city?

No complaints from me if Brazil doesn't have all their shitt together for the World Cup after seeing how Russia fuked this up! There Brazil, have to cut them a break!

Just stating the facts RC as I see it presently! Not hating on your comrades just totally dumbfounded that the conditions over there are this bad! I mean you had like 7 years to get Sochi ready!

Most countries use the Olympics as a selling point to have tourists come visit a country past the Olympics! This fiasco has done the opposite IMO! Since money talks, if I was the Olympic committee, I would request a potential hosting country to fork over a BIG amount of money to hold onto and get involved more in planning and constructing the needed facilities!

we already talked about all that in the thread. Why don't you address the fact that the sporting venues are top notch, the athletes are happy, and that your worthless "journalists" will do anything to disrespect or belittle Russia and have been doing so for a long time.

Month before the nbc affiliate here has been running ads for the Olympics all the while taking some kinda backhanded shots at Russia. Talking about beets and moonshine. ha ha ha. Its what you Dumbamericans do, the stupidity and classlessness has long been ingrained.

PS: Coolie pal, I have seen news reports from CBC commentators in Sochi that have said everything but the weather has looked splendid.

Actually the weather has been too nice, its sunny and above freezing, not what the winter olympics needs!

Can we blame Russia for the mild weather?

Great, they have excellent curling facilities. Was the orange water part of US propaganda also? Russia does a fine job of belittling itself with its infrastructure. Some superpower.

I'm sure it happens. You'll see people dissatisfied with their hotel rooms all over. The question is whats newsworthy and what direction your media wants to take.
 
RC, like to say sorry to bum you out ...... I really do hope it all works out for the best! I mean I'm just so surprised some of the basic amenities are lacking there! The Philly guy I spoke of last night interview said anyone associated with NBC (have rights to Olympics) are treated 1st class!

He stated the rest of the journalists can't say the same! He also said most of them are pampered so much that they complain bout conditions no matter what! Said they need to live with it and stop complaining! He also did say seriously, the room he has does have the smell of a freshly painted room!
