Long story short i have it on good authority last week that a local police officer (near where im located) decided that it was all too much and committed hurry curry at the front counter of her assigned station by apparently pulling the firearm out of her holster to shoot herself in the head.

Thing is, although her surname and initial were mentioned in the obituaries the event itself failed to garnish even a single mention in the newspaper or television stations.

Unable to find anything on the net about this either.

If it wasnt for the obituaries id swear there wouldnt be a clue that this actually occurred.

So why do police sometimes go to all this trouble to cover up the actions of their own....

Rj im not sure but the cynic within think media blackout at request of government and police here.

Wouldnt have thought an event like this would do much to instill public confidence.

As an aside, the state paper today published the photos and names of 50 outlaw bikies.

Name of the article writer had been left out but me thinks the newspaper editor may be on borrowed time over this...

Yes she was young RJ, had her whole life ahead of her.

Besides doing a service for the community i dont understand why anyone would want to be a cop.

Shitty conditions and even shittier pay (for what they have to put up with anyway).

Wouldnt mind finding some stats on this. Tip of the iceberg type stuff indeed pal...

I have no idea, but can't you request not to mentioned or shown out of a "respect" factor? Maybe the family is embarrassed and asked for it not to be public? I have no clue.
Good point. I know this is not allowed of the general public but im sure by and large the squeaky wheel gets the grease when it comes to police and government airing out dirty laundries.

Here you will never see the media using the word 'suicide' due to its negative connotation and its lack of a 'feelgood' factor.
