Just finished listening to both The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon.

In hi fidelity with Panasonic headphones!

Now I feel a hugh craving to smoke a joint, something I havent done in over 20 years.

I think its the first time I listened to these albums and not been high.

Those 2 albums are just killer classic albums. Dark Side is a great, lazy, Sunday hangover album.

Yap. Pink Floyd. They have basically been my favorite band since I was ~15.

I have unfortunately gotten to the point (got there a long time ago actually) where Dark Side of the Moon is overdone for me. I have heard it too much. Intellectually, I greatly appreciate what's in there but the opening bass line to Money makes me slump my shoulders more than prick up my ears. Just overplayed.

That kinda sucks.

I'll tell you what I really enjoyed. I saw a bit of a DVD of a David Gilmour concert - and he did Echoes. I just enjoyed the fucking hell out of it.

I remember Mr. Simmons, a high school science teacher, right when The Wall came out, we walked into class one day and he had it playing on a boombox. Another Brick in the Wall

We don't need no education

etc.

Wonder what that was all about. He had never done that before with any other music. Possibly he was just a big Pink Floyd fan and was just that excited, but it felt like something more than that. Some kind of pre-emptive measure?

:dunno:

I remember when me and my brother bought tape of Dark Side of The Moon at Sears in '81. We wanted to get The Wall but it was too expensive. Man when I heard it I was like wow! Thats the coolest shit ever. Been my favorite band after that.

But yeah, I don't spend much time listening to my Pink Floyd albums these days.

Why did you quit smoking the green, ploms?
Blitty smoking up was fun from age 14 to about 21, then for some reason weed just lost it's appeal, after years of smoking I found that when I got high on weed I'd get paranoid and have unpleasant thoughts, so I switched to hashish and had better results but still lost interest.

I doubt I'll ever smoke weed again, I may be tempted to smoke some hash - if offered.

I still have Pink Floyd in my regular rotation. Wish You Were Here, Meddle, Animals. I even throw in Ummagumma once in awhile.

Now I don't listen to a ton of music so "regular rotation" means that I prolly listen to each of those like once a year.

But yeah, I get right into it when it's on.

i cant do ummagumma. shit is a little bit too out there for me. at one point someone in the band claimed that they never do drugs. give me a fucking break. you cant write a song called "several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict" and not do drugs.
