Matty, after 40 + years I am finally figuring things out when it comes to these crazy frenchies in Quebec. It's too bad these nutjobs have to give the frenchies such a bad name, but I think the rest of Canada are starting to figure things out as well. It's about time.
 
There is going to be a huge backlash soon, from all these folks living outside Montreal. I don't disagree with the fact that French needs to be protected better - I don't want my cultural background to fade away like that of Louisiana.

But we're talking about a hockey coach here. Who gives a fokken shit.

People in Quebec don't even revere French players more than other groups. Most popular guy here is Sidney Crosby. Most popular guys on the Canadiens are Price and Subban. Neither of them speak French. Before them it was Kovalev, it was Doug Gilmour. People in Quebec enjoy flashy, passionate players, no matter the cultural background.

But for some reason, the coach has to be able to talk in French with our craptastic Qubcois sports writers who - for the most part - can't even speak proper French.

Some high-profile journalist here tweeted that the hiring was embarrassing. I replied by asking him what was more embarrassing, Cunneyworth speaking only one language or Martin speaking a bastardized Frenglish (which he does.) No answer.

I love my people most of the time. Today is not of those days.

understand this comes from someone who knows squat about hockey but has recently become a maple leafs fan, fuck you habs! but my question is of those sportswriters, who do they think should be the coach right now? thanks for taking my call, i'll hang up and listen.

Patrick Roy's name comes up most often. The smarter writers realize that this would be a monumental fiasco cause Roy has the biggest ego ever on top of some serious anger issues.

Roy might make a good GM one day. I think he would need to be in charge of all hockey operations to be at his best.

Personally, for the coaching job, I'd bring back Michel Therrien. He's a scout in Minnesota right now. Good guy.
 
I've read that Alain Vigneault may want out of Vancouver if they don't win the cup this year. I personally don't give a fuck who coaches the Habs as I am a die hard Leafs fan, but if Roy ends up coaching them then the Leafs/Habs rivalry will be renewed big time. Roy is a douchebag. So is his wannabe rapper son. I think a lot of die hard Habs fans also realize how much of a douchebag Sainte Patrick is so this could get interesting especially when the players tire of Roy's attitude/rants if he does end up coaching them. I can just see the headlines. Habs fans, players along with frenchie politicians and frenchie businesses finally tire of Roy's childish rants from the bench.
