Lindsey Vonn and Maria Riesch are good friends. They and their husbands have a tradition to spend Christmas Eve together. Riesch joked earlier that she would be happy of both of them split the four available gold medals.

The funny thing is that Riesch, with Vonn already in the number one spot, was visibly holding back on the downhill. She said she was intimidated by the wipeouts before her... Intimidated on the downhill? Vonn won the gold. Riesch won the gold the next day. Vonn fell shortly before the finish. So far so good. There may be nothing to it, but I like it. If only because they would have a good laugh about it next Christmas.

Vonn is the 2010 Super G World Champion. Riesch has had a very hard time with the Super G this season.

Prop: Vonn finishes higher than Riesch in the Super G. Got it at -205. (Low overnight limits. When I tried to bet it again it was -240)

Still waiting for a Canadian, man or woman, to break through with a medal in one of the Alpine skiing events. This one would do just fine.
