Matty, my tech guy fixed my laptop for a mere $40. Took him all of 10 minutes but I'm happy.
It was what you and I suspected. The network server was corrupting it with the patches. I could adjust my settings on the laptop I guess but probably just as easy to disconnect it from the server when I leave work in the afternnons since our network only updates at night anyways.
