Program is DEAD.

Fuck tOSU.

Program is nowhere near dead.....

A little proactive movement vacating the wins from 2010 is fine with me, it will be tough until they actually get a big name coach (which doesn't appear likely to happen this year), but they will be back towards the top soon enough for all the haters to join in.

I readily admit Tressel screwed up big time, but really, all of this initially over players selling their own shit, just unreal.....

did I read that Pryor recieved 8 different cars during his career...

This dates back to the Clarette days

This kid was an absolute tool - don't know if you have ever seen an interview with him or not, but he comes off like he is 8 years old. And while I don't think he had THAT many cars, word around the campfire was he didn't even realize it was inappropriate to flaunt some of the things he was involed in.

Embattled scouting service owner Will Lyles told Yahoo! Sports that University of Oregon coach Chip Kelly personally approved a controversial $25,000 fee that sparked an ongoing NCAA investigation and was in constant contact as Lyles provided the Ducks with recruiting assistance that may have violated NCAA rules.

In a wide-ranging, multi-day interview, Lyles said Kelly “scrambled” in late February and asked Lyles to submit retroactive player profiles to justify the $25,000 payment to his company, just days before the transaction was revealed in a March 3 Yahoo! Sports report. Lyles also provided details of his fledgling company – Complete Scouting Services (CSS) – as well as the extent of his relationship with numerous Texas high school stars and his role in Ducks’ recruitment of certain prospects.

So basically Kelly/Oregon paid this company $25,000 to scout on Oregons behalf. Unfukkingreal, last I checked that was a major reason why college coaches get paid so much, to recruit....

Really think the NCAA won't go that hard on you by doing this THE Ohio State? Highly unlikely and F them! As I said before all the big schools do it but the way Tressel came across as so rightous bothers me!

The guy was even a cheat at a small school where you think there shouldn't be that much pressure on you to win to cheat! Plus letting those players play in the bowl game and Pryor at least won't really get punished at all by leaving!

yep, thats what I gathered from the article...
and then theres this:

Report: Willie Lyles gave Oregon profiles retroactively - ESPN

ESPN's version actually tries to touch a little heat to LSU as well.

"In May, Lyles defended himself in an online podcast with FoxSports.com columnist Jason Whitlock, calling allegations that he asked Texas A&M to "beat" an $80,000 offer for star recruit Patrick Peterson "unequivocally false." On March 30, former Texas A&M cornerbacks coach Van Malone told ESPN's Kelly Naqi that Lyles had phoned him to say it would take $80,000 to get Peterson, who wound up at LSU and was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals."

"Lyles said he was involved in getting LaMichael James to finish the final semester of his senior year of high school in Arkansas so he could avoid a standardized Texas math test which he had not passed. Lyles said Kelly told him it was a great idea, Yahoo! Sports reported."

its all about the Benjamin's

Mr. M, that bowl game was already in the works prior to this becoming public. In an effort to salvage the game from OSU not playing some starters and therefore a major bowl is now being demoted to a "who cares" bowl was not what anybody wanted. I am sure many factors (not just tOSU) were involved in who played and who didn't...

And let's keep in mind, this was like Watergate - the cover-up was far worse than the crime (although Pryor is a POES)......

You may be right though, a huge program simply forfeiting wins may not get the NCAA off their backs...

Yea BGS, the bowl game doesn't really matter that much but the idea of programs taking wins away always made me laugh! Everyone knows they won them! Do you know if they will have to pay back the bowl game money they received? Hit them in the wallets, that's where it hurts!

Not sure on the ramifications of returning bowl money, but let's face it, that will certainly not break the bank at tOSU even if it does happen....

I am glad I have season tiks for UCF again, I may have to pour myself more into their program, now that my main one did troubles!!!!!!11!!
