judging by the tone of the article, my first thought is thane burnett is not a happy person. also not observant or perhaps short in the memory department, since this sorta' crap has been going on for years now. burnett should possibly get some eyewitness accounts from the canadians who did go 'cross the border to shop in the good ol' u.s. of a.

my black friday experience was a trip to home depot for 32 big bags of cypress mulch @ $2.49 each (dumbmerican dollars) per bag. looks like i got it spread just in time after we got nearly an inch of rain overnight.

The only Canadians who cross the border to shop in the good ol' u.s. of a are ones who are too dumb to realize that the money they wasted on the gas they burned and the time it takes to cross the border is not worth the $10 they saved on inferior items made in china.

Canadian economy (at least on the east coast) has been doing well despite shit that has been goign on in the good ol' u.s. of a. I think Alberta took a hit for sure. Like the good ol' u.s. of a, most products in Canada are produced in China. Sad really, but what can you do.

not much any one person can do, puckoff. i tried years ago to 'buy american,' or at least north american since i have an affinity for some mexican goods, but it's practically impossible now. i do try and support the local economy as much as possible, but even some of the mom & pop shops here are not really locally owned.

I hear ya BB. The local shops here (produce and livestock) are around, but the prices are just insane.

I wish more goods were made in China. I bought a Braun hair clipper in Germany in January but realized back in the hotel room it was made in USA. In just over ten months, there was a crack in the plastic body and I had to tape it.
