Focker, you were a huge help with the home laptop and that link you provided. It has been running great ever since. I wanted to do the same thing with my other laptop I use at the office but whatever virus infected that one kept getting worse by the day and I haven't been able to run that link you gave me because it won't function period. It keeps telling me it isn't acknowledging Windows. There was one message that said "this version of Windows isn't recognized". I attempted to reset it to the original default settings but it goes into a restore mode along the way and keeps getting stalled when it comes to the Windows portion of restore.

The Windows was factory installed so I have no clue as to why or how it isn't being recognized. I mean for something like that to happen I would imagine a bootleg or unregistered type of situation which isn't the case.

I've tried all the Backdooring for Dummies methods to get into the computer so is there any trick you know of to get past start-up?

How good does it feel to put some hopeless soul in handcuffs?

Give them help or opportunity? Nah.

Arrest them for panhandling. Give them tickets. Throw them in jail. That will fix them!

I'm sure you're just doing as you're told though.

Pawn.

Well it was displaying that message after loading up all the way to where the desktop was displayed. i couldn't actually open anything on the desktop though.

Now it won't even get past the Windows start screen. Doesn't matter if I select safe mode or allow it to go through regular mode it won't boot up now.

I tried F2 but nothing there looks out of ordinary.

I would respect Daft's attempts at being a prick if he wasn't such a pussy.

For shits and giggles Wally, you can get a linux O/S that you could run from either a USB key or you could burn it to a CD. Ubuntu is one; there are literally hundreds. If you could boot up with Linux at least you could access your hard drive and windows folders etc..

Just a thought.

Linux probably isn't a good suggestion for Wally.
