My laptop won't boot up. I can't even get into safe mode. I tried to also change to boot from a dvd/cd to reinstall or repair windows and nothing happens. Just a black screen. Any advice?? I've read it could be a power supply issue or even bad ram. Who knows.

Hmm. Does it recognize your hard drive? In other words, do you see your hard drive listed in the settings and does it list the proper specifications?

I don't see the hard drive listed or anything. Strange. My son was playing video games (friv.com and another site) before this all went down. I'm ready to sangle him, but he's sleeping right now.

I'm asuming my laptop is really fucked up.

When you're in the CMOS setup, can you detect your hard drive? There's probably a separate screen for IDE devices or something like that. See if it finds it.

Yah there's no screen at all for IDE devices. My options are Main, Security, Advanced, Tools and of course Exit. the only thing that i can really make changes that would make any difference is the boot order and in tools i can do a primary hdd test which i cant see how this would solve my issue.
