Never was a fan of this team but all the major schools are cheaters! The motto sent out by the NCAA is just don't get caught!

If Tressel fessed up to it probably would still be coach but the covering up stuff IMO is a no-no! Plus the guy always came off as holier than holy! As you know I'm not a big fan of preachers!

On a more jovial note, any pics of a vest wearing shirtcocker?

yet Auburn gets off scott free as of now...
rumors that AU players were given debit cards by boosters among others allegations that haven't been proved yet .
remember something about AU players also given cards to use in casinos that the machines were programmed to pay out for..
could all be BS though

S78, this bitterness of yours sounds like the same thing Bama backer Mikey would say if he still posted here?

guy worked his way all the way up from the small time, and reached the pinnacle at the top.

all thrown away, because of some poor decisions and not just coming out with it all right when it all went down.

if you are a big time coach, you are damned if you do damned if you don't. so much scary pressure from every side

but they need to forget the backers and fans and take care of the kids first and fear the organized crime power of the NCAA 1a

what i find amazing is that athletic director gene smith was blissfully ignorant of all the shenanigans. this story reminds me prez reagan and ollie north in the iran/contra affair, only reagan wasn't as black as smith and north wore marine uniforms instead of a designer sweater vest like tressel.

He knew and told Tressel to take care of it. Tressel did by ignoring the problems.

Tressel is one of those fuckheads like Bill McCartney at Colorado and Steve Alford at Iowa who hid behind God and judged everyone thru religion, while stabbing you in the back.

As a lifelong Buckeye fan, obviously what Tressel did was wrong, and certainly he should be dismissed of his position because he hid the truth, not for the infractions themselves. Get real people, he protected his own guys from an infraction that was relegated to selling their own shit. Was it wrong, yes. Was it Auburn or USC wrong - not even fucking close. Not necessarily on this board, but for some to even call him a horrible coach because of this is absurd.

Really? Common man....I know the Bukeye haters are coming out in full effect, but this is ridiculous......

I think this story is still being played out. It goes back 8 years.

I think the school might know how bad it is, or that it is about to get worse. And by getting rid of the of coach, the university can claim they are being proactive, and hope for some leniency on the penalties.

Terrell Pryor had 8 cars in three years and the coach didn't see a problem? Troy Smith was involved, Maurice Clarett too. Thats three generations of Buckeyes getting stuff. I'm sure there were far more. Whatever USC got from the NCAA, TOSU should get more.
