Depends on the phone.

You're technically not supposed to transfer from phone to computer with an iPhone. iTunes only lets you do it for purchased items. There are 3rd party apps like SharePod that allow you to do it though.

With a Droid, you can typically just find the device in My Computer and drag and drop your music files onto your hard drive.

Thanks guys. I basically transferred them all on Windows Media Player and then using the Zune software I dragged them to the phone. But a few songs didn't get transferred due to a DRM error. I guess I can only listen those on the MP3 player. And they were all the hip hop rap stuff I had.

Hey Monkey, any reason for this?

There are ways to remove the DRM licenses from those files...
