Got to get the dentist involved. If it is someone that is mature enough to handle it then they will thank you later. The old "this guy I know went to the dentist and he is so glad he did it." trick works in this situation. On my phone and i cant think of the name of the procedure to take care of it, but my wife (dental office manager) recommends it to people all the time outside of work without hurting their feelings.

Also, bad breath is often a symptom of gum disease. If this is somebody you are dating you need to dig deeper into her dental hygiene. Tell her you have dentist appointment coming up and ask how often she goes. If not every six months then you need to hook her up with your dentist.

If I had bad breath (or body odor), I would want someone to tell me straight up. If someone was my friend, they should tell me and I should not be a child about receiving the news. Maybe this person feels the same.
