How Do I Convert My CD's To MP3 Format

I have a ton of CD's from the early 90's when I was buying like crazy everything that used to be vinyl and I want to convert them to MP3 files. How do I do it and will the sound quality be as good as when you buy a song in MP3 format?

Any number of programs pavy. I'm sure windows media player can do it.

You can encode the mp3 at different quality levels depending on how big you want the file to be.

Thanks durito. Choo I did the google search but I couldn't tell if the quality is good. I guess I would try the windows media player on a couple songs and see how it sounds on the MP3 player.

It will put them in wma format on Windows media player unless specified.

Hope that link works, doing it from the iPhone. Ripping the file at 128 k is the least I would go Pavy, probably more like 160 or 192k.

rip the CD onto your media player
meaning put cd in computer and choose rip instead of play, etc...
no idea about formats and shit but I cant notice much of sound quality issue.

I do this with new CDs I buy.
rip CD to media player then burn a copy.
listen to burned copy and put fresh CD up so it doesnt get scratched up

Senco - I apply turtle wax, let dry, then wipe clean with cheesecloth (wipe from center out, not circular). This will prevent fingerprints and scratching. I did this with all 2700+ CDs I own.

I end up buying fav bands albums many times over thats why I started just burning them, then when the burned gets fukd I throw it in trash and burn another

It worked. Just set up the preferences on Rip Music tab in WMP and then inserted the CD and it automatically ripped all songs. And it sounds great on the laptop speakers.
