no doubt they had great minds and were great musicians for their time...but common, would they even be recognized today if they were a new band? maybe some... #1 albums? no ... #1 songs? no ... sure times have changed and again, its all matter of opinion...not my cup of tea (no pun intended)![]()
The Beatles still outsell most artists today, I think that compilation 1 was the highest selling record of the last decade. The Beatles just had harmony and could construct a well crafted 3 minute song, having a producer with classical music experience like George Martin didnt hurt either. A band like Nirvana can sell 50 million albums because there is still some harmony there in all the guitars and noise, Cobain liked the Beatles and Punk.
Alot of these great bands and albums just go from generation to generation. Isnt Dark side of the Moon still outselling most albums?
