A defense to what? My house is there and all my stuff is there. All I have here is clothes and a car with Colorado tags. The plan was to stay until mom passed....I packed up not knowing if it would be 5 weeks or 5 years. Mostly I am just concerned with keeping my healh insurance plan as is even though $610/month is painful. Like I said, I won't be filing for the forseeable future so not sure it really matters that much.
 
Jay Cutler's wife, Kristin Cava-whatever got arrested and had to post bail for not having an Illinois license earlier this past fall.

she has a place in Cali and a Cali license, but if you are here for like 6 weeks or 3 months you have to switch.

I kept my Pa license and license plate for like 15 months and bucked the law and got away with it though

How would they know? I am pretty sure I could drive here for 10 years and not worry about that unless the tags were expired. I drive so infrequently and few miles.

I'll look into it though.

I kept my vehicle registered in Saskatchewan when I was in Ontario, cop in Toronto gave me a ticket for not changing my registration and license to Ontario, I contested the charge and it was withdrawn by the court - they couldn't prove I was an Ontario resident as all my documentation showed a Saskatchewan address.
The main reason for keeping the Sask registration is insurance, SGI is the government run provincial auto insurance plan and its far cheaper than private insurance in Ontario.

$610 a month for health insurance IAG? Yikes!
