I was recently in Vegas and one of my cousins boyfriend owns his own Auto insurance franchises. He also sells auto, home, life, and annuities for another company. After networking with him for a while he said since i was family he would hook me up( but he's always looking for people to make him money since thats how affiliate type business works). I went to a training meeting and talked with the marketing executive for the company in California and Nevada. After i was interested in the initial overview of the company he did a 2 hour presentation with me on how the salesman work and how the logistics of the commission and pay works( just like any basic referral system where you get people to work and so on and so forth). At first i was very optimistic Ive been to all the bullshit sales seminars in the past where its just a total ponzi scheme. My cousins boyfriend has worked there 4 years and in that time hes bought 3 houses and lives very comfortable. was able to use what he made to start his own auto insurance franchise(s). This company has been around over 50 years and is a major insurance company. After speaking with the marketing director he referred me to one of his associates where i live where they have a office and want to pay for me to get licensed while i work as a trainee.

Does anyone have experience working in this type of industry/referral program. I sold vacuums back in the day and was able to generate some good income at first but with any referral system you run into dead ends. Most people fail in this type of sales industry because of this. Any tips/pointers, or if its even worth it.

Samsncharge is selling used cars

This is a more mature group. Ive got feedback from a few business owners i know but none have ever worked in this industry.

health / life insurance... majority of my living family tree works in insurance now... it really depends on the set up, but cold calls and traveling all over the area isnt for everyone...in fact, the fail rate / turnover is extremely high. if you have nothing on your plate at the moment, you can give it a whirl, but cold call rejection gets old very fast...

Was it State Farm by any chance? Keep getting load of emails from them about open positions.

Wouldn't work a 100% commission job.

Go with Farmer's insurance

lolmlm

just get a regular sales job

we hire inexperienced sales doods all the time to work the phones

they get pressured to perform but it's not a semi-scam - they get a proper base salary and full benefits from day 1

grab some UTEOT :grabsome:

Where else would you go? :clueless: We're well-adjusted :greencheck:, affluent :greencheck:, educated :greencheck:, stable :greencheck: and responsible. :greencheck:

Can't think of a better group of people to look up to.

(BTW plommer, hope you didn't take offense at my removing your post on FB. It would've totally stayed had you not used a fat, naked porn guy as your profile pic.)

Yeah it's hell and stressful compared to other jobs. I'm glad you found the one success story and made that your reason to join. Let's forget all the others that failed and what they went through.

oh man what was it Matty?

we are affluent :woohoo:

I won $100 when I was in the sea cadets for selling the most poppies on Remembrance Day. I stood by the entrance of a Canadian Tire and remembered every deadbeat who said they'd catch me on the way out.
