There is an ongoing corruption trial here in 'Bama which revolves around alleged payoffs to state officials to try and bring gambling legislation to a public vote. The alleged bribers are Milton McGregor and someone whose name I do not recall. Mr. McGregor's phones were tapped for quite sometime. He is IT as far as what little gambling there is in Alabama. He owns the racetrack and had built a casino like place with electronic bingo machines. The rooooooomers that have been circulating in the state since the whole Cam thing became a story is that Mr. McGregor's bingo hall was a funnel for pay-offs to Auburn athletes. The athletes would go to play some bingo. They would be escorted to specific machines and WHOA!!! they would win! And the rooomers have said that this could be proven from the taped phone tap conversations which would be released during and after the trial.
