after a very successful first time foray into fantasy football, here at gamelive....(beat PROS Matty and Blitty 4 times out of 4 times!!!)

I'm doing my first fantasy baseball draft tonight... please help me out....

seems like pitchers are not a high priority here

its through CBS sports

here are there parameters scoring... 17 players, need 1 guy on the roster for all infield positions, 4 OF's 1 DH 5 starters, 2 relievers

Player Policies
Description Setting
Player Eligibility Players are eligible at their primary position, plus positions they've played 10 games last year or 5 games this year.
SP Pitcher Eligibility Pitchers gain eligibility at Starting Pitcher with 3 starts last year or 1 start this year.
RP Pitcher Eligibility Pitchers gain eligibility at Relief Pitcher with 10 relief appearances last year or 10 relief appearances this year.
DH Eligibility Everyone is eligible at DH.
Player Pool AL and NL Players.
 
Im reporting this thread back to sp.

Seriously, hitting projects better from year to year than pitching. Don't go after closers or sb's early,same with catchers. Your first 3-5 picks must pan out so I wouldn't go reaching. Look for high upside pitchers later with low whip (under 1.3 unless a closer).
 
Don't worry about capping to avoid blown saves and a few of the other negative stats. I would be leery of SPs coming off a career high in IP if its a lot higher than their previous high.

The first 5 picks you make MUST excel in 2+ categories. When lookin at closers, just look at saves. They don't pitch enough to really affect other catagories.
 
wouldn't Catchers be kinda a premium spot where you can steal 1 or 2 premium hitters, and the market drops off after that?

I mean its not hard to get a 1b,3b, corner of guy that racks up alot of points, but wouldn't the "market" be possibly inefficient there?
