TSN is showing the final games of the 87 Canada Cup starting tonight. Thought you might like to check it out.

"To mark the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest hockey tournaments of all time, TSN is delivering re-broadcasts of all the Final games from the 1987 Canada Cup. The games are all digitally re-mastered with each game featuring a marquee panel of Team Canada coach Mike Keenan, Team Canada defenceman and Hockey Hall of Fame member Larry Murphy and Team Soviet Union centre and Hockey Hall of Fame member Igor Larionov.

I'm sure you can get it if you have satellite tv. Not sure if TSN.ca is streaming it or not.

This is a must watch for any hockey fan. A young Gretzky and Messier. 21 year old Mario Lemieux. Same goes with the Russian (KLM) players. Canada wasn't even stacked for the 87 Canada Cup. No Yzerman, no Sakic, no Brett Hull. Of I forgot. Brett Hull took a hissy fit and defected.
 
oh yeah they were stacked, but imagine if they had a young Yzerman, Francis and Brett... forget it.

The Canadian team had Normand Rochefort on defense. I have no idea who the fuck he is. Surely TML head coach ond former TML defenseman Randy Carlyle deserved to be on this team.

The owners IMO can't cry foul when you see 100 million contracts given out! So few guys get paid and the rest of the team gets 400-500K a year!

Can someone tell me the cap figure for teams presently? :dunno:

It was supposed to be $70 million for next season. Bettman is a tool. The guy boasts every year since the last lockout about record profits and now you have owners as you mentioned giving out insane contracts and they are now crying poor. FUCKED UP!!!
 
Pucky, some might think it a slap in the face when I call attention to some and absent mindedly neglect to include less frequent posters.

Pucky, I think it’s far more cruel to include some that would be in great favor of the material being presented only to later realize they are actually not able to participate.

Poor Reno is located within the comfy confines of the U.S. but unfortunately is not a participating carrier of the TSN Network.

Pucky while your intention were pure your actions probably have brought to light a loss that would have gone by without notice had you not alerted our beloved Reno to what he will be missing. Pucky the least you can do is record and mail a copy of this to Reno at whatever SofaShare he is currently residing at.
