Are no hitters losing their effect?

Always been a Tiny Tim fan but I feel like I see it once a week or so anymore. I don't feel anything. I feel like I could put Cami out there and she'd be good for at least 4 innings of no hit ball. Have they lost their effect?

Where's our numbers guys to show the historical data. I voted no because I still get goosebumps watching that last out.

My view hasn't changed much. I have always considered them more of a freakish thing than something really significant/important. But sure, watching the last inning or two of a no-no would have a dimension that a regular dominant pitching performance would not.

It does seem like there are more now than in my early days of baseball awareness. Not as special on that basis.

As of 2012 it appears to be pretty up and down. My limited google research did not reveal any current graphs.
