I know that Matty has done some family tree research. My uncle and sister have done some and I wanna share!!!!!! All of these are from my dad's side of the family.

Great x alot granddad George Ray, awarded land in Georgia after expelling the Brits!!

fastforward about 80 years and here is where great something granddad, Dunwoody Ray, was awarded land after some conflict in 1855. Dunwoody, GA is named after him.

Now Dunwoody's wife's maiden name was Pierson and here it gets even better!!! My 9 or 10x great granddad Abraham Pierson came over from England in 1639 or 1640. He started off in Lynn, MS but some went with a few others to form a township near Long Island, named Southampton. He moved to the Branford colony around 1644. He moved again in 1666 forming a new township named Newark, NJ.

Now 8 or 9x great granddad was his son, also named Abraham Pierson. He was also a Puritan minister like his dad. He graduated from Harvard and decided to start teaching with some other men. They started a college that became known as Yale University. The first classes were held in Abraham's house. There's even a statue of him up in Yankee land!!

Now tell me something about where you come from!!!!! Go ROOTS!!!!

Very cool Nina! My dad was into genealogy before he died. He did a lot of research and typed up all of his findings and gave each of the kids a copy. I have mine back in Denver. I don't remember anything being particularly noteworthy, but next time I'm back I'll dig it out.

His research was all done before the net..it probably could have been much more complete had he had that resource.

My bro-in-law wants to know if we get a family discount into Yale now that we know. LOL!!!

lol....think Yale is essentially free these days isn't it? The harder part is getting in...but family ties should count for something there too!
