Hi everyone,

Haven't been online too much the last week. I hope everyone is doing well. I was on a week off, driving back to Toronto...so close to home...

Kinda pissed off about it right now so I'll rant a bit...

Kid driving a company vehicle tries to make a right turn into a parking lot from the left hand lane right in front of me as I'm doing about 5 miles per hour...I hit the brakes but had 0 room to move... BOOM! My left headlight/quarter panel and bumper are fucked but that's about it. No one hurt and I drove my car home. Now I have to go get a quote in the morning now and then call the kid's employer and see what he wants to do. I have a witness, his plate # and until 9pm to report the accident... GL me; it looks like it will be about $2500 damage; It sound's like the employer is willing to deal.

I may have to take the day off to deal with this shit... My first accident in 26 years of driving.
 
holy shit, that focken sucks....

yeah I hate the last part of a long trip anyways, I get so antsy and can't wait to get home....

and then THAT shit happens...

MrQuincy, I'm not your legal adviser but if I were I would strongly suggest editing this thread before your time runs out. That way when you wake up in the morning with severe neck pain nobody is the wiser.

It wasn't just a low impact 5 mile an hour fender bender YOU WERE BLINDSIDED MrQuincy.

Glad I wasn't hit from behind man... I had both of our full suspension bikes on the bike rack on the back... probably 10k to replace those bad boys.
I'm going to take the day off and deal with it. The kid called back and said his employer has a body shop they use and they will pay. If they don't I report them by 9pm and let the police deal with it...

I'm hoping that they are a decent body shop because I need to get some other work done on my car. This could be a blessing in disguise. My car isn't that fancy; 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT; 100 000 miles; barely broken in... If the body gets fixed it will look like a brand new car... I hope it works out for me...
 
I've already booked off of work and had a rough estimate on the damage. The guy says "It'll be over $1000 easy, probably closer to $3000".

Now I'm going to phone the guy/kid that hit me and see what him and his company want to do... I feel badly for the kid, but I'm not going to eat $3000 for a repair that I didn't cause....If I don't get the right answers from them, I'm going to report the accident to the collision centre this afternoon.
 
It now seems like the kid is trying to dodge a bit; If i don't hear from him or his employer by 11am; I am going to call his company to report him and block his cellular # from my phone.

FOK them; They already cost me the day off so I got nothing but time today...I'm gonna stick it to them where the sun don't shine;

..and not in a gay way, either.
 
I had a fender bender a few years back and they had to replace the whole front, radiator, lights, hood, fender etc and it cost about $2500. But my insurance paid for it and they didn't bump my rates. They call it accident forgiveness because I had a clean record with them for the last 15 years.

Good luck Mr.Quincy. Don't get stressed about it. Accidents happen for a reason. Will they give you a rental car while your car is in the shop?
 
I'm trying to sort it all out today.... There is a collision reporting centre very close to me here so I can easily go over and report it if they don't wanna settle;

The more I think about it, the more i think I am going to report it to the police....

I just had a chat with my body shop guy and had a really good look at the damage... The guy at the shop said if i can get $1500 cash and not bother reporting anything, that I would be way further ahead... I have told them and I'm awaiting the phone call from them now...

If it ends this way i can take the car to my body shop that is close to my house.... I hope it just ends today...
