Huge amount of oil in reserve, gotta actively pump it though. One nation stands above the rest in that regard and has for some time.

I don't think the US refines much of what it produces either. forgot all this shit years ago when I moved away from an oil town.
but our refineries are built for thicker shit than what we actually produce more of now (thinner sweet oil)
