This was some time ago. We had a cousin that passed away down by Krome ave in Homestead. Was riding in a car with two girls, he was in the passenger seat. Girl lost control and went into a canal. He and the girl in the back managed to get out before the car sank and made it to the side. Seeing that the driver didn't get out he jump in again to try to save her. Somehow she got out after he went in but he never came back out. Apparently the mud and plants held him down. In his funeral when people were taking turn to talk about him someone chose to play Hero by Mariah Carey. People were bawling to the song. Every time I hear Mariah on the radio I remember my cousin Edwin.
