As far as markets go, im wondering how efficient or inefficient baseball cards are. Im not talking about speculating on rookies, thats just fun.

I wonder if you could stalk likely HOF'ers a couple years before theyre eligible, hold and sell the induction. Same with guys on the bubble. Assuming normal transaction cost youre down 6-10% right off the bat. Then you need to beat 7% annual stock market returns. Probably not enough to eek out a stable profit but its a cool market to study.

Actually it's time to buy after they reach the HOF. The elite (Ohtani, Judge) already have HOF baked into the pricing. People get bored and chase the next big thing, thus flooding the HOF market too late.
