I'm about to try rewatching Mad Men myself, let's see how it goes.

Decided to bite the bullet and watch the Epstein doc. On the 4th episode now. Nothing groundbreaking. It gets a bit numbing hearing the sexual assault stories.

How he was SO above the law is beyond scary.

Acosta and Dershowitz come across as scumbags.

Clinton is not looking too good either, although Virginia Roberts says she's never seen him interact with the underage girls.

Still, he needs to explain what the fuck he was doing there. Epstein was basically a blackmail machine and he told Virginia that Clinton "owed him a favor".

Supposedly Clinton said he was never on the island or ever at one of Epstein’s properties.

I believe the groundskeeper personally.

I believe everyone in that documentary except for Dershowitz. Slimy bastid.

BTW that Sarah Ransome chick is like Scottish aristocracy. She had that upper class swagger that made me google her background.

I still can't believe that a POS like Epstein can thrive for so long.

Sarah was of all the women I was most curious about. She was beautiful, had that accent and did have that swagger. Her teeth were a little wonky, which did surprise me.
 
The Epstein doc was very well done. I hadn't realized the MOUNDS of evidence that existed in his case. What made me more sick to my stomach, though, was how sleazy and unethical the Assistant United States Attorney assigned to the case (who later became Trump's Labor Secretary) was. So fokken dirty.

So after watching that, I don't believe he was whacked by the Deep State yada yada. Epstein realized he wasn't getting bail and that he was dead in the water from a legal standpoint. He didn't want to give his victim's the satisfaction of a guilty plea/verdict so he killed himself.

Another ghey conspiracy theory down the tubes.
 
Totally. I think as his bubble of deception/blackmail/theft/pedophilia grew larger, he must've kept suicide in the back of his mind as a quick exit strategy.

But I wonder why he wouldn't want to take down a whole bunch of other guys with him before offing himself.

They barely touched on the trafficking angle beyond Prince Andrew. (Speaking of whom, why isn't he being charged with anything?)

Did they say that Acosta's plea deal is giving Maxwell immunity or did I read that somewhere else?

Prince Andrew being from the UK complicates things, but Virginia says she was trafficked to London at least once if I remember correctly. Will be interesting to see how far she's able to take her crusade. Go Virginia go. *She* should probably be worried about getting suicided.
 
Watching Uncut Gems for the second time right now. Wanted to see if it holds up multiple viewings. Surprisingly it does. This movie shows the energy of a degenerate gambler perfectly.

Every Jew I'm friends with was/is a degenerate gambler. They were not tight with money. Far from it.
Good guys too. I'm talking about my Toronto Jew comrades that were jewish when convenient, otherwise bacon and eggs was always on the breakfast menu.
 
I liked Uncut Gems a lot. Planning to rewatch it when wifey is not around (she didn't enjoy the epic levels of degeneracy on display.)

A lot of my guitar customers are Jews. Delightful people for the most part. Lots of parallels between French Canadians and lower-middle-class Jews. Similar kind of wacky energy.
 
Based on your love for Uncut Gems, I thought I would give it a try. :thumbsdown: Annoying guy deserved to be shot in the face. KG was the only likeable character. More importantly, which sportsbook will allow correlated parlay of player props and game result?
 
Regarding the parlay, I checked the video again and he had only player rebounds in it - that should be a low correlation to the game result. Maybe someone at Mohegan Sun wanted to keep it real. But, his bookie allowed him a parlay with player points. That is insane.

Matty, don't boo me. Someone(casper again?) can provide better entertainment with his gambling tales.
 
I watched the first few episodes of Snowpiercer.

I don't feel like they have a story to tell. I feel like they just glommed on to a property from a director who is currently hot and said, "Let's do something with that - doesn't really matter what. How bout we keep the dystopian elements with the vague social commentary and - oh I dunno - let's throw in a murder mystery!"

I haven't totally given up on it but smart money is on me not lasting the first season.
