I dunno pal. Didn't really see what he did, although I know the announcers were going on about what a bad penalty he took, selfish player, etc.. I did see him attempt to make some plays in the offensive zone which were bordering on creative and sorely lacking from the rest of the team. I'm not as down on him as some others are.

I guess I wish others had more of his confidence and not taking any shit attitude. Case in point: Russian penalty kill= awful. I wrote this somewhere before the goals. The penalty kill will bury us, and so it did. Not aggressive enough.

The penalty that led to the 2nd goal was way away from the puck and just dumb. Their penalty killing was awful as the US couldn't sustain any constant pressure in even-strength situations. They can call out a lot of other players also, like Ovechkin.

Ovechkin is a FLOATER. I swear I said to myself yesterday that Kovalchuk and Malkin are 10 time better OVERALL players than Ovechkin. These guy play in traffic and will go to the dirty areas.
 
Ovechkin used to stand out by moving faster than anyone on the ice. I haven't noticed that so much over the last couple of years. I think what he mostly does now is stand on the side waiting for a one timer on the power play. Still has a good shot, but thats about it. :dunno:
 
ya he has a wicked shot and is strong on his skates. It's a shame with all his talent that he only uses about 50% of it. He's basically a soft type of player who can give a hit, but can't take it. Well he can take it, but it throws him off his game . BIG TIME!!! He's a pouter when the game gets physical and then he starts to float ALL THE TIME.
