I'm not saying that there couldn't/wouldn't be an advantage somehow. Tough to discern though. I'm sure there are enough don't come/don't pass players to balance out the come line/pass line players already.

Where have you ever seen a craps tournament in this town? I haven't seen one in 5.5 years. I'm not really looking for them, but they certainly cannot be that commonplace - especially for a "professional" with a $37 bankroll.

Just really hard to believe that anyone could find enough EV out of craps tourneys and how anyone could have started with $37 to play craps tournaments tends to make me think he's completely full of it or is just getting plain lucky. No matter what strategy you're employing, $37 ain't gonna weather anything but positive variance.

that's most likely.

I have been invited to table game tournaments, craps may have been one of them, not certain. For sure Bac and bj.
I'm certain that heavy enough craps play will give you promotional benefits such as those.

I'm not sure what the significance of balancing out action is as you put it. But would tend to believe heavy action/buy in will give a significant rating at many places even when you're only betting pass/come with big odds at a vig of say .2% or less.

Of course all of that would take more than $37. Perhaps he started with matchplay coupons

If you have a long term edge playing tournaments, I'd assume that you'd have to find the lowest -EV bets that others weren't playing to have success.

Yeah. There are always Bac tourneys. But those are typically invite-only for high rollers. I see blackjack tournaments all the time, but I've never seen one for craps.

Right. The whole $37 thing means "I got really lucky playing craps one night and then continued to get lucky for a while" to me. Unless he's cheating somehow.

He told me that he was a casino dealer for 13 years; during that time there was this one old guy (complete with respirator) that was always winning...finally after seeing this a lot, the old guy took him out and showed him a few secrets...

I have gone on to be friends with Ed. He's from a small town in Ohio or Iowa but now resides in Vegas. We have been watching games at the sportsbook in the Excalibur on and off for the last week. I have yet to play craps with him because i have not had enough time to do it. Im going to try to meet up with him tomorrow afternoon for a small session up on Freemont Street before I leave to go back to Toronto. If I get any more information as to what is going on, I will quickly pass it on, I assure you. I guess craps can be a very streaky game, from what I understand. ( I seriously don't know FUCK ALL about craps)

Buddy of mine gave me $20 bucks to play on #31 on a roulette table...Today I went and the table I chose was in an empty casino; It was the El Cortez on Freemont. I put $10 on and lost; the 2nd $10 actually HIT! Unbelievable! It was me, my brother watching and the pit boss.... The look on the dealer's face was priceless.. She looked at the pit boss and she just was dumbfounded..... Funny shit

My brother said the look on my face was pretty special as well.

probably expected value bets would matter very little volatility would matter a lot more. that is you probably want to make a lot of bad value bats in order to distance yourself from the pack such is 2,12 hard ways

Hmm. You'd probably go bust 99% of the time betting single roll bets all day long.

No idea what the tournament structures would be though.

I spent more than i won, but I did it kinda on purpose. I was on vacation after all. If I hadn't blown some of the winnings on slot machines I would have come back home with more than I left with, including paying for the hotel.... If I was gonna bet there more seriously, I would obviously never touch slot machines.... All in all it was an amazing trip; I met some really good people and got a few tips along the way. I think we should have a GL superbowl bash in Vegas every year from now on....

I had to break this bottle open. I bought it on a reserve outside of the Valley of Fire park on our trip thru the desert....is it ever delicious. I'm still up after the red-eye flight. Freaking blizzard and I don't have to work until 10:30pm Sat nite.

I am going to bug the LCBO in Ontario non-stop until they carry it.

I am debating on going down for the Superbowl again this year. Looking at a deal now that would cost me $682 (with my travel voucher) for a return flight from Pearson Airport and 7 nights at the Golden Nugget. I loved Freemont so much last time and could easily sit around that neighbourhood for a week and get my degenerate gambler on.
