IAG
I have always worked best under pressure, ie., (papers finished the night before in college, , I have a strong work ethic, ) but this is nuts. Things in my personal life are left undone...I have 25 boxes of clothes to sort thru, boxes of pictures to arrange, etc...if it HAS to be done for some reason (bills paid on time) I can manage it, but larger projects have gone undone for months...and it's certainly like I don't have the time.

I think I read this was a symptom of some disorder...maybe it's just part of the isolation depression. It's kind of like feeling so overwhelmed that I can't start in on a project. If I can't get it all done NOW, I don't even start. I'm kind of rambling but I have to figure out a way to get past this. Google "how to motivate" I guess.

Thanks for listening. Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is exactly me. I've been the same way for all of my life.

It's hard to explain the feeling that accompanies the extreme inability to get started on a project.
Anxiety would probably be the closest description, but it's different than other feelings of anxiety. It's like my brain panics and runs away to any available distraction when I try to force myself to start something. Usually it's only at the last conceivable moment can I manage to maintain focus and get going. Once I'm going, I can stay focused for a long time, though I often had to half-ass things just because I started so late.

I made school about 100 times more stressful than it needed to be because of this.

At different times I tried therapy, drugs, and various self-help methods to fix myself. I can't say that anything worked enough to matter. In the end, for me, it was much more effective to tailor my life to not be so negatively affected by this trait, instead of trying to change my behavior.

How about a yard sale?
Are there any facebook garage sale groups in your area?
Have you looked for any other sites that allow buying and selling stuff in your area?
Getting cash back for some of those items like the Bluetooth will make you feel better about having to get rid of some stuff.

TE] Thought about a yard sale but those are generally not good for clothing..even brand new with tags... I did hear about that thing on FB you are talking about the facebookgaragesale deal. It is a closed group and I just sent a request to join but haven't heard back. I heard that was good. Most of my other stuff is in Denver and will need to be brought back here before February..thinking of making a quick trip next week. Tomorrow I am going to go thru this house and chuck a lot of old stuff mom has....easier to chuck someone elses. lol. I'll figure it out..the clothes are the hardest part. Thanks q..maybe if I follow enough of your hockey plays I won't care if I only get %5 back on my items lol

Been too busy here to cap (or try to cap) any NHL lately. Hopefully things slow down soon and I will get some time to do some more reading IAG

I know how that is. Do hope things slow down for you (unless busy is good.) Stop in chat when you can if you have something good, as I don't often check the hockey threads here...and just to say hi as well! Hope you are enjoying your new guitar!

Muddy went on a heater in this thread.

Yeah, I feel stuck right now. I'm stuck in something that's supposed to feel good but it feels like a 16 hole Doc Marten stomping my head on the curb.

I've never heard the phrase "went on a heater," but if it's a good thing, then yes, yes he did.

No pressure, but should you feel the inclination to share about your stuckness, this is the place to do it.
