Ridiculous.

Talkin' bout the actual official QB rating stat they use.

Ridiculous.

First of all, by the system currently used, the perfect rating is 158.3. What an absurd number to represent perfection. Ratio it to some heterosexual number like, oh I dunno, 100. Divide your shit by 1.583 you bunch of meatballs.

Second of all, a guy can go like 20 of 25 - and get the 158.3 rating and be called "perfect."

I don't care what kind of backwards land of rhetoric you come from. 20 of 25 is not perfect. It's good, sure, but not perfect. Perfect is perfect.

QB ratings.

Redonkulous.

That is all.

Ok since sarcasm obviously isn't gonna work I'll try practical.

In your example you elected to use a random 20 of 25 and couldn't see how that could be considered perfect. I counter with the 5 incompletions were bad play calls by the coaching staff or superbly defended plays by the defense and the quarterback had no choice but to throw the ball away to prevent taken a loss via sack. Essentially he performed perfectly under the circumstances considering he doesn't possess invisibility powers enabling him to sneak past the entire defense and score an undetected touchdown. Course if he were to have invisibility powers his Quarterback Rating would be off the charts.

Well Wally you did make an interesting point in a backwards sort of way. A sport based in a country that does not use the metric system and is used to all kinds of unnecessarily untidy units and measures ---> it makes more sense that a place like that would have a system where perfection would be 158.3 rather than some hetero number.

As for the devil's advocate argument of intentional incompletions: that makes some sense - if it were true that the incompletions were intentional and smart. However - and I could be wrong here - but I don't believe the ratings are based on someone making that judgement. I believe the ratings are strictly made from soulless data - and those incompletions can be just completely horrible throws - but the QB still gets the perfect rating.

Really, I don't mind that there is a cap on the rating. 158.3 is a goofy number but okay.

Just don't use the word perfect if it's not perfect.
