Teela, IT WAS IN A MOVIE!!!!

It, therefore, MUST be rampant.

Had I mentioned a YouTube video of a rogue cop everyone but Daft could be on board.

You don't want to watch the video no problem. I haven't once said there aren't other contributing factor and maybe even greater problems at the forefront but it should take away that there are problems within the system and that is something that could be fixed.

I will contend that the children featured situations might be in the minority but that doesn't mean it doesn't reflect a problem even if it is a small problem Focker.

I will also contend that the founders of Charter schools are painted in a glowing light and I'm sure if investigated there would be not so shiny.

There is plenty of blame to spread around and the resounding opinion of GameLive seems to be as long as one thing is more to blame no need to concern ourselves with anything else.

People die at the hands of corrupt policework. Parents have a responsibility to ensure that their children get a proper education. That's a fairly significant difference. Most parents don't give a fuck. I'll tell you what, if my kid had a teacher that was unwilling to do their job, you can bet your ass that I'd be down there raising Hell. I'm not sure what system that you're proposing that could possibly serve better than personal accountability. Are you even proposing anything other than buying (hook, line, and sinker) into what the movie was selling?

That's admirable Kato but what happens when zoning restrictions doesn't allow your child to attend a different school unless you move? What happens when due to overcrowding or limited admissions your child isn't accepted at a different school in your area? Maybe you can afford to uproot, leave your job and relocate so to afford your child a better opportunity but what about those that can't?

Why should everyone and everything else have to change if the problem is the school or specific teachers?

Private schools don't have zoning Wally.

Emily will be going here: http://www.graland.org/

My return to the USA will be accompanied by a return to far right political views. Let's eliminate the department of education.

Durito, in zoning I was only talking about public. Admissions was more directed at the private schools. I didn't clarify but I was more than a little aggravated.

Course even in public schools zoning enforcement usually only comes up when a coach of a rival school challenges the legality of a player on another team.

I may be old school but when I was in school eons ago my grades depended on the teacher. If he liked me I had good grades. If he didn't like me I had bad grades. And I told my dad. My grades got better after he had a talk with the bad teacher.

In any industry, you will find "good" and "bad" workers. According to the argument that started this thread, unions are designed to protect the bad workers. What about the "bad" parents that don't come to parent meetings, do not make their kids do homework, and instill the notion that school is bad because they had a bad experience with it?

Yes sir, though technically that would be padres money, but he has no say over it so might as well call it moms.

They of course don't know this yet and want to send to her to public school, but I will fix that.

Teela, it was stated that the union had a 90 or 99 step process that had to be followed in precise order to even get to the firing process of a tenured teacher. There was also a segment where teachers were being paid up to a year at full salary just to show up (not in a classroom mind you) with others who were awaiting some sort of action to be taken on their cases which ranged from simply being a bad teacher to physical and sexual abuse.

In these cases the union is protecting. Maybe not the individual but the reputation of the union. I agree with due process but in some instances there has to be a process.

Teela, I never said anywhere in any of my comments that everything about the union is bad I even said I support unions if anyone bothered to read. I also never denied that there isn't fault with parenting, environment or even the individual child again if anyone bothered to actually read what I was saying instead of what MonkeyFocker was rallying.

You can't legislate individual parents, you can't fund entire communities and you can't save individuals hell bent on destruction but you can improve on something that is outdated, overcrowded or simply not working.

A friend of mine was falsely accused of making terroristic threats toward a co-worker, which was heard "through the grapevine" and not firsthand. He was put on leave without pay for over a month. Maybe he should have told them that unions fight for pay for sexual and physical offenders. I'm sure that would have been effective.

I'm sure we all have stories, you firsthand through colleagues and or friends, me through friends and movies that I watch and take as gospel.

I'm sure the video is slanted to one side Teela but I also doubt if everything it contains is false.
